Sarah Sun is a junior at Great Neck South High School, NY and a classical saxophonist at Manhattan School of Music Precollege, where she studies under Dr. Wonki Lee. She has received numerous recognitions, such as 1st Prize in the VIVO International Music Competition, 1st Prize in the New York Laureate Int. Music Competition, 1st Prize in the International Talented Young Musician Competition, 1st Prize in the Manhattan School of Music Precollege Chamber Music Competition, and 2nd Prize in the Island Symphony Orchestra Young Performers Concerto Competition. She is also a Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Finalist, performing at the 39th Annual Young Musicians Concert. Sarah has performed solo recitals at summer Saxophone Institutes at

Driving Directions

Eastman School of Music and the University of Michigan, and will attend the BU Tanglewood Institute this summer. She has also served as principal alto saxophonist with the New York State Band Directors Association (NYSBDA) Honor Band. Sarah has been playing the saxophone for 8 years, and has performed in reputable halls including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, and Alice Tully Hall. She believes music to encompass a kaleidoscopic and talented community, and aspires to contribute to that community and to tell a story through her art. She is also an avid creative writer, and enjoys singing and playing the piano.
